            Baptist High School Mankon, BHS is a blessed fountain of studies that came to place way back in the late 20^th century and has been able to sail through the past years with outstanding results. BHS Mankon as it is known today started officially in 1989 at the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC headquarters in Nkwen in the Northern region of Cameroon as Baptist Secondary School, BSS. The school however, moved to its present permanent site on the Matsam Hill in Mankon Still in the North Wersten region of Cameroon in September 1991 with Mr. Nforgwei Alfred as pioneer Principal.

            The first batch of students complete form 5 in 1994 and the. The status of the institution changed in September 1999 when it was transformed into a High School. Since then, the name has remained Baptist High School Mankon and nicknamed “Mount Carmel” to describe her blessed features. From the above synopsis, the school was blessed enough in 2009 as she celebrated her 20^th anniversary sandwiched with a series of successes.      

            As of the present BHS Mankon is undergoing fast and outstanding improvement both at the academic and infrastructural domain. They have been able to produce Good results at the General Certificate of Education GCE both at the advance level and ordinary level ranging from 86% to 100%.for the past 20years of her establishments. She as been able to award PTA and government scholarship to outstanding performances. Her key principle is Discipline+Hard work+Prayer which is the principle which leads not just to a successful academic life but a successful life in general.

            It is made up of nice infrastructural buildings such as the boarding houses for both boys and girls, the well lighted airy classes conducive enough for studies, a big multipurpose hall for a series of activities, a chapel, staff houses which surround the school to ensure the security, a large study library, an ITC center with network facilities to facilitate research by students and a series of laboratories for practical work just to name a few.
